2006 – Current   Caribbean Marine Surveyors Ltd

 

Marine Surveyor. Responsible for evaluating the structural and overall condition of the vessel and all its associated systems and writing a concise and comprehensive report in a timely manner.

Undertaking various surveyors including Insurance, Pre-purchase, Phase-out, Stability, Tonnage and Damage surveys. Responsible for liaising with Owners, Buyers, Insurance Agents, Yacht Brokers and Charter companies.

 

2003 – 2006    Interaction Marine, Charter Captain

 

Captain aboard prestige Catamaran ‘Re-action’.  Responsible for maintenance of all yacht systems, including Yanmar Turbo Engines, Northern Lights Generator, Village and Hiro Watermaker, Mermaid and Cruiseair Air Conditioning System and Dive Compressor. Complete Re-Fit of Vessel .

 

Responsible for all aspects of the yacht as previously mentioned, ensuring guest safety and offering a full Dive service.

 

2001 – 2003                Charter Captain - The Moorings, British Virgin Islands

 

Captain aboard  S/Y ‘Moondance of Cowes’.  Responsible for maintenance of all the yachts systems, including twin Yanmar Engines, Westerbeke Generator, Cruiseair Air Conditioning, Seafrost Refrigeration and Electrical Repairs.

 

Responsible for all aspects of the yacht, sailing, passage making, annual haul, safety, navigation and general maintenance. 

 

Charter Duties – Ensuring safety and comfort of guests, sail, diving and windsurf instruction, entertaining guests and cocktail making.  Average of 25 weeks of charter per year – Caribbean based.

 

1999 – 2000                Sunsail Antigua Catamaran Marina

 

Head Base Engineer Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of 22 plus yachts, ranging from 40ft – 51ft.

Briefing of clients on operational procedures of the yachts, delivery of yachts to various Caribbean islands, and Captain for Chartered Yachts.

Flotilla Engineer and Crew Member.  Working alongside a Captain and Hostess in Greece (Sporades) as well as liaising with Base Manager and Staff.  Duties included Maintenance off all 15 Flotilla Yachts.  The ordering and inventory of all spare parts, Varnishing, Re-fitting and De-Winterizing of all yachts. Relief Captain completing many Deliveries of yachts around Greece and Turkey.

Automotive Machinist, 9000-hour apprenticeship completed in Automotive Machining.  Trade Certificate obtained.

Second Engineer aboard 150ft Fedship VAVA.

Completed numerous deliveries around the Mediterranean, Caribbean and USA.

Competed in numerous Regattas, including Antigua Race Week, B.V.I Spring Regatta aboard Swan 60 and a 68ft Custom NZ Yacht.
